| As an individual living with osteogenesis imperfecta, type III, a core part of my activism background and campaign platform is fixing New York's broken disability system. There are so many changes that need to come to the state, including but not limited to: - Eliminating NY's separate, lower, minimum wage for workers with disabilities - Promote self-directed care when appropriate - Restore the NY State Office of Advocacy - Restructure Disability Income to not penalize work - right now, many individuals with disabilities are at risk of fully losing their health coverage if they earn or save too much income. | |||
| Our top legislative priority is saving our district's dying economy. The economy in the district has been hurting significantly, and it has not improved under my opponent's five-year reign. I will level the playing field for small farmers as part of the solution, eliminating unfair regulations and barriers that large farms buy from Albany. I will also work to decrease taxes across-the-board which will bring business back into the district. Our solutions will pay for themselves as they are about removing government regulations not adding more government spending. |
